Our SPD surge protective device delivers reliable lightning & surge protection for AC distribution and solar PV systems. Featuring modular plug‑in structure, thermal safety disconnector and visual status indicator, it safeguards electrical equipment against destructive voltage surges. CE certified, compliant with IEC 61643‑11.
QA
A: SPD, also known as surge arrester, is designed to protect electrical equipment from voltage surges caused by lightning strikes or grid switching. It diverts excess surge current to ground and keeps the output voltage safe for your devices.
A: We have Type 1, Type 1+2 and Type 2 SPDs. Type1 is for heavy‑duty lightning direct strike protection; Type2 is for secondary surge protection in distribution cabinets; Type1+2 combines both functions for compact installation.
A: In is nominal discharge current, the standard test current. Imax is maximum discharge current, representing the maximum surge current the SPD can withstand once. Higher Imax means stronger lightning‑resistance capacity.
A: Under normal working conditions, the service life is about 8‑12 years. Most models come with a visual failure indicator window. When the window turns red, the SPD needs to be replaced immediately.
A: Yes, we have special DC SPD for solar photovoltaic systems. They are suitable for PV string side, please tell us your system DC voltage like 500V,800V or 1000V for correct model selection.
A: Our SPD products have CE certification, comply with IEC 61643‑11 international standard. We can provide test reports for your project tender.
